Short Biography
Dr. Zachariah Mbugua is a lecturer and senior researcher in Applied Mathematics specializing in Fluid Dynamics and Numerical Methods. At the moment, he is a lecturer at the University of Embu in Kenya. He holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology (JKUAT) Kenya, an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 2016 from JKUAT, and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 2021 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is a member of the South Africa Mathematics Society, and his most recent research work focused on the newly developed overlapping grids' spectral collocation numerical methods for modeling entropy generation in fluid flows. Dr. Mbugua has authored and co-authored published manuscripts on numerical techniques and fluid dynamics modeling in high-impact journals. He is also the driving force behind the 2022 MOU between Embu University in Kenya and the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. Aside from research, he is the chairperson of the Kuraiha Primary School Board of Management and the Chairperson of the TWEMA Youth Foundation since 2010.
